DAY
TWO
After a full English breakfast, we will drive
to Kleinmond along the most spectacular coastal road from
Gordon's Bay. The enormous expanse of False Bay lies before
your eyes, and this is what the call the beginning of the
WHALE ROUTE. We will reach the Beach House in Kleinmond at
lunchtime It is situated directly on the a moon-shaped beach
and a lagoon, an ideal place to swim in the warmer waters
of the Indian Ocean. There is a long, meandering walk along
the rocks, from where one can ideally behold the giants of
the sea and their friends, like the graceful dolphins and
playful seals. Dinner at the spanking brand-new six-star Arabella
Hotel, a few kilometres away, or in one of the local seafood
eateries in the quaint village of Kleinmond. (Note: if you
are a golfer, accommodation would preferably be at Arabella
Western Cape Country Club, which boasts its own golf course
overlooking Walker Bay)

DAY THREE
This is the highlight day of our whale tour
as we will proceed to Hermanus, the whale capital of the southern
hemisphere, where you - if luck is with you - virtually touch
these magnificent creatures from the side of the quay at Old
Harbour or watch them for hours from many view spots around
South Africa's favourite holiday resort. It is full of lovely
restaurants, shops and bars. The day will be structured according
to your individual wishes, but basically it is spent with
your friends, the whales, of which the Southern Right Whale
tends to be the most frequent visitor to these shores.

You will be accommodated in the magnificently
refurbished MARINE HOTEL, one of Liz McGrath's signature hotels
of world renown. It combines the simplicity of the surrounding
in its interior design with simply the most exquisite cuisine
available in these parts of South Africa.

DAY FOUR
In the morning we will visit the two outstanding
wine estates of the region of Walker Bay, called Hamilton
Russel Vineyards and Bouchard finlayson, a synergy of French
and South African excellence in the making of fine wines.
Lunch at the magical The Cave Restaurant, with the waves splashing
against the rocks immediately below you. Afternoon again is
set aside for more whale watching, beaching or walking the
boardwalk
DAY FIVE
Today we leave the coast on our way back
to Cape Town, in order to do the majestic four-passes drive,
which will take us via Elgin and Grabouw, past Tierwaterskloof
Dam over the Franschhoek Pass to this quaint little wineland's
gem of a village, Franschhoek, steeped in Frensh history and
renowned for excellent wines and cuisine. Lunch will be enjoyed
in the five-star "le Quartier Francais", before
we proceed through this, the most fertile valley of South
Africa to the Cape-Dutch homestead of Boschendal, then over
Helshoogte to the student town of Stellenbosch, the second
oldest town in the country.

Here you will have time to walk through the
oak-lined streets and marvel at the mixture of Cape Dutch
and Cape Georgian colonial architectural styles, side by side
reflecting the two dominant countries in our colonial history,
Holland and Great Britain. In time for sunset on the beach
in Camps Bay, we proceed to Cape Town and to the very stylish
Bay Hotel, situated directly on this crescent-shaped, palm-fringed
beach on the Atlantic Ocean. Dinner at the very swish, Californian-style
Blues Restaurant right next door to the hotel. (Note: for
the budget conscious, we could substitute the Bay Hotel for
the quaint little Guesthouse in Camps Bay or Bakoven, called
- of course - "Whale Cottage". You will decide how
many days you have available to enjoy the many sights of Cape
Town, the most beautiful city in the world)
We, at VIP Tours trust that this
whale tour will an unforgettable experience for you.
